Abstract

  • In February 2016 Jawa Timur experienced deflation of 0.10 percent. Of the eight cities of the CPI in Jawa Timur, fiveexperienced deflation and three cities experienced inflation. The highest deflation occurred in the town of Kediri by 0.33percent, followed by Malang 0.15 percent, 0.11 percent Surabaya, Kota Probolinggo by 0.08 percent and 0.02 percentSumenep. While the highest inflation occurred in Jember and Banyuwangi regency respectively 0.12 percent and the lowest inflation was recorded at 0.03 percent Madiun.
  • Of the seven expenditure groups, three groups of expenditure deflation and four groups of expenditure experiencedinflasi.Kelompok expenditures experienced deflasitertinggi is a group of transport, communications, and serviceskeuangansebesar 0.53 percent, followed by housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel by 0.38 percent, and foodstuff by 0.21percent. While expenditure groups with the highest inflation in the clothing category at 0.88 percent, followed by food,beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.42 percent, health 0.16 percent, and education, recreation and sport by 0.11 percent.
